 Emerging fashion brand Ebun Oladoye and ace designer Yomi Casual have lifted the veil on their collection with the theme “Afrocalypso”, highlighting different designs made with the indigo-dyed fabric called Adire.

African prints came alive once again on the runway at the launching of “Saris Stitches fashion label and hosting of the first edition of “African Pride Fashion Exhibition”. The event took place recently at the popular Adesua Hotel and Event Centre, Egbe, Isolo, Lagos where an array of beautifully designed dresses made by Saris Stitches were worn and displayed on the runway by the Organisation's  models. In a brief remark at the event, the CEO of the fledgling design and model outfit, Mrs. Sari Akhietie says that APFE is fashioned to further expose and promote African Prints, more specifically for export gains. According to her Africa is lucky to be blessed with variegated beautiful and colourful prints such as Adire, Aso Oke, Kampala, Ankara etc. which she says she likes experimenting with by using them to create different dress designs. “We are blessed with different types of fabric.                                                          Temilolu Olurishe Temilolu Olurishe also known as Tee-Rise who released her debut single last year titled, "First loved Me" , is back with two new songs shortly after co-writing "My Choice" with her sister "Deborah Rise". One is titled "Your Love" which was produced by DJ Klem and the second is called "Thank You" which was produced by James Umokoro. According to her these songs are born out of her own life experiences and she intends to do even more in the coming months. 

The Guest Writer Session of February 23, will feature Glorious Amalu-Jack, Michal Musialowski, and  Bayo Ojo. The Abuja Writers Forum (AWF), kick-starts its 2019 literary calendar with the Guest Writer Session on January 25, featuring   Georgina Ehuriah,  Japheth Prosper and Achissan Agoh. The event  which is open to the public and holds at the Aso Hall of Nanet Suites from 4pm to 7pm  - incorporates readings, Q and A Session, live music and a raffle-draw for books. Georgina Ekeoma Ehuriah (MON) who is the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Mines and Steel Development, will feature on the “Take Five” segment, and talk about five books that have impacted her life. A barrister –at- law, Mrs Ehuriah also has a degree in English Literature (University of Nigeria, Nsukka), a Masters in Public Administration (University of Lagos) and a Diploma in French (Universitie de Benin).

Women's wear Dapo Desina Atelier is excited to share their new resort/holiday collection named "STAR" just in time for the holiday season. King Emmanuel Educational Nursery had their Open Day on Friday, 16th November 2018. It afforded the parents the opportunity to interact with their children’s teachers.  Each class embarked on projects which were exhibited on that day. The projects covered various fields of learning Grade five pupils’ project centered on the solar system and the movement of the earth. They used maps drawn by them to educate their parents. According to them, the movement of the earth on its axis which they referred to as rotation, brings about day and night, while revolution is the movement of the earth around the sum and this results in different seasons of the year.     On the solar system, they summarized their positioning with this sentence- My very excellent Mary Jones sat upright near Paul. My (mercury ) very (Venus) Excellent (earth ) Mary (mars) Jones (Jupiter) sat (Saturn) upright (uranium) near (Neptune) Paul(Pluto).

The Peoples Democratic Party has described the presentation of attestation certificate and confirmation of school certificate result to President Muhammadu Buhari as a tragicomedy. Buhari had on Friday received his West Africa Examination Council certificate from Dr Iyi Uwadiae, the Registrar of WAEC.  National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Kola Ologbodiyan, told journalists in Abuja that, the PDP did not expect the president to, “come this low.” He said, “it is a tragicomedy. We never expected Mr. President to dramatically come this low because you cannot have a certificate and be calling it an attestation. What are they attesting to? We stand by our position that Mr. President has no school certificate. “it is simply a political certificate. Opposition political parties under the aegis of Coalition of United Political Parties have described the sudden release of the confirmation of result by WAEC in favour of President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, as suspicious. They said that there were indications that the result was hurriedly released to stall the commencement of the suit seeking to disqualify the President from the 2019 election, describing the action as laughable, unbelievable and a desperate effort to mislead the court and shield President Buhari from being disqualified in the 2019 presidential election.
