A cross section of special guests at opening ceremony of the Ake Arts and Book Festival The United States Mission in Nigeria has renewed its support for Nigeria’s burgeoning community of creative writers and artists with its participation at the 2018 Ake Arts and Book Festival. The U.S. Mission was one of the major sponsors of the 2018 Ake Arts and Book Festival, an annual event which showcases the best of contemporary African literature, poetry, music, art, film, and theatre.

Alleged kidnap kingpin, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, a.k.a. Evans, on Friday narrated how he was allegedly tortured by members of I-G’s Intelligence Response Team and the then Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).  An Abuja-based Naturopath and fertility expert, Dr Kingsley Onuzuleke,  on Friday, advised intending couples to ascertain their fertility status before marriage. Mrs. Caroline Nwanyioye Okpalakunne, (Nne Onyemelukwe) is dead. She died on 1st August, 2018 at the age of 87 after a brief illness.She has since been buried on October 19, 2019 at her home Town, Umudim, Umueze, Uga, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra state.
