Buhari: It’s a political certificate – PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party has described the presentation of attestation certificate and confirmation of school certificate result to President Muhammadu Buhari as a tragicomedy. Buhari had on Friday received his West Africa Examination Council certificate from Dr Iyi Uwadiae, the Registrar of WAEC.  National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Kola Ologbodiyan, told journalists in Abuja that, the PDP did not expect the president to, “come this low.” He said, “it is a tragicomedy. We never expected Mr. President to dramatically come this low because you cannot have a certificate and be calling it an attestation. What are they attesting to? 2019: Buhari’s WAEC result is fake – Opposition parties

Opposition political parties under the aegis of Coalition of United Political Parties have described the sudden release of the confirmation of result by WAEC in favour of President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, as suspicious. They said that there were indications that the result was hurriedly released to stall the commencement of the suit seeking to disqualify the President from the 2019 election, describing the action as laughable, unbelievable and a desperate effort to mislead the court and shield President Buhari from being disqualified in the 2019 presidential election. CUPP is made up of about 42 political parties. Killer of Ope Bademosi arrested

The Ondo State Police Command has arrested the cook who killed his boss, Chief Ope Bademosi, in Lagos. The cook, who was identified as Sunday, was said to have committed the offence at the Lagos home of the deceased. He was alleged to have run away after the dastardly act. The State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Femi Joseph, confirmed the arrest.

Late Gen. Shehu Musa Yar’Adua and I wrote WASCE in 1961 –Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has said that he and the late Gen. Shehu Musa Yar’Adua were classmates at both the primary and secondary schools, noting that they both joined the Army after the completion of their West African School Certificate Examination. Buhari said that he and the late Gen. Yar’Adua wrote the WASCE in 1961. The President said this as he defended the presentation of his WAEC certificate to him by the West African Examinations Council on Friday.

Imo: NWC drops Okorocha’s in law, adopt Hope Uzodinma

The National Working Committee NWC of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC has adopted Sen. Hope Uzodinma as the governorship candidate of the party for Imo state. The final decision on the issue was taken during a meeting of the NWC held Wednesday in Abuja. By Harande Balarabe When it was announced that one of the advertised headliners for the October 27 Guest Writer Session was unavoidably absent, the look of disappointment showed clearly on the faces of most attendees. They had arrived the Fountain Hall at Nanet Suites, with a lot of anticipation only to be told that Chief Timipre Sylva  had to attend an urgent meeting in Geneva, Switzerland. But within seconds of the presentation by Julius Bokoru, his media aide, the hearty applause restored the positive vibes in the hall. It underscored not only the presenter’s skill but also the quality of the content. The presentation was for a new segment of the monthly programme. Titled “Take Five”, the idea is for high profile personalities to talk of at most five books that have positively impacted their lives. The debutante chose to focus on three books.

“Change” Wahala

At Mile 2 bridge, Lagos, a large crowd were waiting for a bus to go home after their day’s job. It had rained cat and dog that day so there was a vehicular traffic, which held the commuter buses behind. So as soon as a bus eventually arrived, the passengers rushed to board the bus.  “Osodi Oke straight N200.00 bus. Hold your change o. If you no get change no enter o. Conductor no get sense o”. This was the conductor of the bus shouting, warning the passengers ahead that he had no change. This reporter was among the lucky ones that struggled and got a space in the bus. Before the bus could get to second rainbow bus-stop along Osodi-Apapa expressway, the conductor started collecting the transport fare from his passengers. One of the passengers handed a N500 note to the conductor. As soon as the conductor discovered it was N500 note, he shouted, “I told you to hold your change. Driver, match am, let this man go down”.
